The "Institut des Sciences de la Lumière" (ISL - Institute of Light Sciences) promotes synergies among all relevant stakeholders within Paris-Saclay. ISL aims to support research projects and PhD theses that cut across the Graduate Schools, encourage the valorization of research, develop an international relations policy, and organize doctoral lecture series and conferences.
The “Physics of Waves and Matter” (PhOM) axis of the Graduate School of Physics at Université Paris-Saclay brings together teams working in a wide range of fields: extreme light, the physics of dilute neutral or ionized media (including atomic physics, molecular physics, and plasma physics), nanophysics, materials growth and properties, the physics of quantum coherence and correlations (including quantum materials and topological effects), entanglement and quantum technologies, optics and photonics, as well as complex systems and matter.
Depuis sa création en 1794, l’École polytechnique produit et partage des connaissances pluridisciplinaires au plus haut niveau, pour ses élèves, pour les entreprises et pour la société, en développant l’esprit entrepreneurial, l’audace et le sens de l'intérêt général dans ses trois missions fondamentales d’éducation, de recherche et d’innovation. Notamment via les laboratoires LOA, LOB, LULI, et LSI, elle est un acteur majeur dans la communauté ultra-rapide.
